- Our Economy may be DOWN, But It’s NOT OUT…..

Granted, the headlines aren’t pretty.

But, I’m here to tell you that underneath all of the doom
and gloom, agile small businesses are actively looking to gain market share and
grow!

This is a VERY good thing.

Our Commercial lending platform is more active than ever
before, and because many of these loans are to small businesses, this is a
positive sign for the economy.

Many companies that administer SBA 504 loans are busy and
if the SBA is busy, small businesses are working.

My colleagues around the Nation see a mini-boom happening
in franchising right now.  They report that
it seems as though many new franchise operations are expanding, while larger
companies are content to sit on the sidelines.
This is yet another sign of new businesses starting and jobs being created.

It seems that the small business warriors see opportunity
in our current economic climate.

As a small business owner myself, I acknowledge that
there are dangers ahead, not the least of which is our Government’s essential
bankruptcy, but I also believe that the best time for small business owners to
gain market share is in times where other businesses choose to take reactive
instead of proactive positions.

I am attacking opportunities in the market because
sometimes, the best defense is a strong offense.  I am not alone.

So take what you hear on the news with a grain of salt
and, know that there are people fighting the good fight.  Maybe you are one of us.

Take heart!  Behind
the negative news, each and every day, small business owners are fighting the
good fight.  These warriors will find a
way to win.  Opportunities abound today,
in spite of or possibly because of, the broader economic news.

Properties are cheap, rates are low, and there ARE people
doing well.

These success stories abound and, THAT is what will keep
America going.

Entrepreneurship lives!
It is the hope of this economy.

We may be down, but we are not out!  We are America!
